REGIONAL ARTIST ACCESS RESIDENCY (RAAR!)
Funded by The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Arts, Squeaky Wheel’s Regional Artist Access Residency (RAAR!) program annually provides equipment and facility access to four emerging media artists in the Western New York region. Artists-in-Residence receive 100 hours of free access to film, digital, or video labs, five days rental of film/video production equipment, one free workshop of choice (during the term of residency), and $100 honorarium (for your artist presentation during the final premiere event!). During course of residency, RAAR! residents must volunteer 5 hours/month (30 hours total) at Squeaky Wheel during events or open lab hours, participate in group meetings and show the new work created during the residency at the premiere screening & reception in March 2013. Selected RAAR! artists will be notified in May and fulfill the terms between June 2012 and March 2013.

ELIGIBILITY:
Applicants must reside within one of the following counties: Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, Genesee, Orleans, Niagara, Wyoming, Monroe, Wayne, Livingston and Ontario. Applicants may not be enrolled in an educational facility during the terms of residency (June 2012 – March 2013).

TO APPLY:
Download application at the bottom of this page. Applications must be submitted electronically as a pdf and sent to submissions@squeaky.org. A panel comprised of regional media artists, past resident artists and curators will review applications using the following criteria: quality/feasibility of the proposal, use of our facilities/exhibition space, quality of current work sample, current level of technical ability and aptitude, and clear articulation of how this opportunity will be valuable to their artistic career.

If you have any questions regarding application or residency requirements, please email office@squeaky.org or call 716-884-7172.
